Nay Pyi Taw – Implementation of the e-government strategy of Myanmar has started: UNDP is supporting the USCB in organizing a training in Nay Pyi Taw for about 120 staff of the Union Civil Service Board (UCSB) in basic and advance computer skills training.
The training will conclude in November. Computers and accessories were provided by UNDP. H.E. U Kyaw Thu, chairman of the UCSB, said “the use of computers has become indispensable in the office work of every ministry and government organisation. This computer training is part of preparation for participating in the e-Government strategy of Myanmar’s administrative mechanism.”
The UNDP’s Country Director, Toily Kurbanov, appreciates the willingness and commitment of the UCSB to gain knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the public service modernization agenda and to develop a more advanced strategy of introduction of e-governance into the daily practices of the organization.
“Strengthening capacity of the civil servants will help speed up public administration reforms process of Myanmar which can help improve poor basic infrastructure, inadequate resources and limited skills that currently hamper effective delivery of public services.” he said.
