Speaking at the opening ceremony, U Win Thein, Chief Minister of Bago Region said, “In striving for good governance, everyone needs to make changes to become a government administration that has the full trust of the people. Bago Regional Government received 129 complaints and 85 cases had been resolved. Proactive measures are important in fighting corruption”.

The workshop was attended by over 500 participants and brought together several private sector businesses, small and medium enterprises, and media and civil society organisations. Topics discussed at the event included Business Integrity, Corporate Social Responsibility, Responsible Governance, and the Role of Media and Civil Society Organisations in Preventing Corruption.

At the event, U Aung Kyi, ACC Chairman said, “The Commission believes that if both the government sector and the business sector can promote their responsibilities in combating corruption, our country’s corruption cases will be reduced.”

The ACC in collaboration with the UNDP and the UK is organizing a series of dialogues and educational programmes across all states and regions of Myanmar to raise awareness around the topics of integrity and corruption.
