Yangon - UNDP has partnered with the government of Myanmar to help achieve its aspirations for green policies to safeguard and sustainably manage its rich natural resources. In collaboration with the Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry, UNDP jointly organized the parallel session in the Yangon Segment of the Third Green Economy Green Growth (GEGG) forum on 22 November.
UNDP partners with IDLO to support Myanmar’s Union Attorney General’s Office in designing a long term training framework

As part of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)’s Rule of Law and Access to Justice programme, UNDP partners with the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) to lead a three week training for the Union Attorney General’s Office (UAGO). The purpose is to support UAGO in designing a long-term training framework for its staff.

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, with support from the ASEAN Secretariat and UNDP, hosts a two-day Workshop on ASEAN Recovery Planning that involves the participation of delegates from ASEAN Member States, i.e.: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam, as well as delegates from other relevant ministries and departments in Myanmar and other international participants.

The first meeting of the UNDP country programme’s steering committee convened in Nay Pyi Taw on 7 October has endorsed the programme’s priorities set to support and speed-up Myanmar’s development efforts. The committee, core governing body to guide implementation of the country programme, comprises representatives from various government departments, development partners and non-state actors.

More than 60 Parliamentarians from across the political spectrum undergo special training on Law Making supported by UNDP in August. The seminars are organized at the request of Union Parliament in order to enhance the Members of Parliament understanding of general process requirements and the tools available to MPs in order to access information and scrutinize the laws.
