Enhancing Earthquake Resilience Community

Among all the natural disasters that impact the country, earthquakes are the greatest threat to development gains.  The earthquake hazards are among the major contributing factors to the high-risk classification for Myanmar, which lies on several fault system namely: the Sagaing fault, Kyauk Kyan fault, Kalatan fault and Kabaw fault and so on.

Under the leadership of the Department of Disaster Management and generous support by European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), UNDP Myanmar is implementing an 18-month project, entitled, “Building Resilience in Earthquake prone areas in Myanmar through better preparedness and response” aiming to reduce the loss of lives due to earthquakes in Myanmar. The project will cover the most earthquake prone States and Regions (Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing, Bago, Kachin, Chin) and Union Territory (Nay Pyi Taw).

UNDP Myanmar produced series of videos to provide safety and preparedness measures in case of an earthquake. Please share the information to your friends and families.
