Social Good Summit 2017

The Social Good Summit Myanmar 2017 will be held in Mawlamyine, Mon State on September 17. This year the theme is “Future in Focus.”
The Social Good Summit Myanmar will provide a creative space for youth to use art and express their views about their future. They will be invited to draw, paint or create collage to portray their ‘Future in Focus.” The event will be facilitated by a local animator. At the end of the art creation period, a gallery will be set up to display the artwork and representatives of each group will present their artwork.  This will be followed by a vote from the youth groups. The artwork receiving the most number of votes will be awarded a prize.

Youth belonging to the Disaster Risk Reduction Youth Volunteer Pilot Project will participate in the event, along with other young people. The Disaster Risk Reduction Youth Volunteer Pilot Project is implemented by UNV, UNDP and UNICEF with support of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. The project aims at strengthening community resilience to disasters through a network of skilled and equipped youth volunteers in Ayyeyarwaddy, Mon and Rakhine.
